Moss book 2 reddit11/14/2023 ![]() Now THAT gets boring after an hour, because there was no depth to it and no attempt was made to make it interesting or varied. And this shit is copy-pasted over and over, at literally every important location. Sometimes you come at it from above or from below, or move a box out of the way. Especially when these "puzzles" are solved by running around a building, and shooting the lock from the other side through a window, a crack in the wall, or just squeezing through a crack yourself to get inside. Why? "This door is barred, gotta get it from the other side". Whereas I'm currently playing AC Valhalla, and that one started to drag almost immediately. I genuinely did not expect something that good, it was just enjoyable without taking itself too seriously. In Fenyx they did a great job with puzzles, but they also varied the biomes, the story, the enemies, etc. So a game of this type can actually last a very long time. The puzzles just kept evolving and evolving, without getting boring, and mixed with decent combat and interesting boss fights. And 30 hrs later there was STILL new stuff. Then they added poison plants that had to be burned by setting some things on fire, and then they added force fields, and more and more and more. So now you're riding these boxes, deactivating them when you need to change direction, shooting weathervanes as you pass by, etc., etc. And the wind was strong enough to push those floating boxes, which are otherwise too heavy to move when they're inert. Then they added local wind, direction of which you could change by shooting a weathervane. Then they added boxes that float when you shoot them, and drop down if you shoot them again (toggle), and that had some inertia and could be thrown and glide for a bit before stopping. Then they added a light box you can carry, tethered to a heavy box you cannot. Then they added lasers, and the lighter boxes get destroyed by them, while heavy boxes can block the beams. But you can stack many light boxes on one plate as an alternative, which was a nice touch. Then they added boxes of different weight and durability - heavy boxes are needed for big pressure plates. It started simple - buttons and boxes and platforming, so I expected it to get boring very fast. It didn't overstay its welcome, because they constantly kept throwing new stuff, new puzzle mechanics. I just finished Fenyx Rising this month, and what really impressed me there was that the game ran for over 30 hrs, I didn't finish everything there was to do (just main story and some side-activities), and it flowed smoothly. Beyond that it has to be quality, or very well designed, or it begins to drag. I'm usually comfortable with 8 hrs for games, ideally 10-15. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
